Repentance – Part 2

Repentance – What is it? – Part 2

Change can be a very hard thing to face. We get very comfortable in our daily, weekly and life routines whatever they may be at the time, but that does not always mean they are 100% right. We habits affect our attitude, physical health and mental health, both for ourselves an others around us. But what can we do about it? This week I will talk about the developing a repentant attitude using the Bible as the go to reference book of choice.

What is sin? For a Biblical interpretation, “Sin is the transgression of the law” (1 John 3:4). In laymen’s terms, it is anything we say, think or do that goes against or is un-agreeable with God’s ways, will and commands. Now that all being said the Bible says that, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” (Romans 3:23). That is why we need Jesus, because we are all sinners, whether we believe it or not. John said, “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.” (1 John 1:8). The point is that we need a relationship with God and we need His atoning sacrifice through Jesus Christ to cleanse us of our sins (1 John 2:2). As the Bible says, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
