Repentance – Part 3

Repentance – What is it? – Part 3

Change can be a very hard thing to face. We get very comfortable in our daily, weekly and life routines whatever they may be at the time, but that does not always mean they are 100% right. We habits affect our attitude, physical health and mental health, both for ourselves an others around us. But what can we do about it? This week I will talk about the developing a repentant attitude using the Bible as the go to reference book of choice…cont’d.

Last, we need to remember that we can “try” to be good as much as we want, but that is not going to work out in the end. We have all of these “causes” in the world that we support that are good in and of themselves, but none of these works can save us from death or earn us a spot in heaven (Ephesians 2:8, 9). Our sinful nature is far beyond anything we can control by ourselves, we need God to help us control and resist our fleshly and carnal desires that bring about death (Romans 6:23). The point is that faith in Jesus Christ is really the only answer to our problems, sins, bad habits, etc. We cannot work our way out of our sins they can only be blotted out by Jesus Christ’s blood (1 Peter 1:18, 19). He gave His life for us, so that we can live (1 John 3:16, 1 John 4:9). Not to live for sin and death, but to live for God and life in Christ Jesus, who was, is and is to come!
