To keep it simple I have interpreted the blood in Revelation 8 and 16 to be crude oil (Rev. 8:7, 8; 16:3, 4). This blood or oil, distributed throughout the earth, comes about likely through a great earthquake which is mentioned in Revelation 6:12. This interpretation can be found in greater detail in my book “Time, Times and a dividing of Times – What did John really see?“. The truth of this interpretation is all good and well, but we must remember that the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy (Rev. 19:10). Jesus came to earth, conceived by the Holy Spirit in the virgin, Mary, and born of the virgin, Mary, espoused to Joseph (Matt. 1:18-25). He had brothers and sisters (Mark. 6:3). He started His ministry at about the age of thirty (Luke 3:23). And for three and a half years, He healed, did miracles, and forgave sins. And ultimately at Passover in 31 A.D., He died on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins, He was buried and the third day He arose again to give us the hope and promise of eternal life in His Holy name.
