God’s Word is our joy, Jesus is our joy!

Jeremiah 15:16 says, “Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts.” (Jer. 15:16). Jesus came to earth, conceived by the Holy Ghost, in the virgin, Mary, born of the virgin, Mary, espoused to Joseph (Matt. 1:18-25). He had brothers and sisters (Mark 6:3). He started His earthly ministry at about the age of thirty (Luke 3:23). And for three and a half years, He healed, did miracles, and forgave sins. And at Passover in 31 A.D., Jesus died on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins, He was buried, and the third day He arose to give us the hope and promise of eternal life in His Holy name. Alleluia and praise the LORD. Amen and Amen.

Forgiveness brings joy

Proverbs 21:15 says, “It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.” (Prov. 21:15).

Sacrifices of joy

Psalm 27:6 says, “And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.” (Ps. 27:6).

In Jesus’ presence is fullness of joy

Psalm 16:11 says, “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” (Ps. 16:11). Alleluia and praise the LORD. Amen and Amen.

The joy of the Lord is your strength

Nehemiah 8:10 says, “Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” (Neh. 8:10). Alleluia and praise the LORD. Amen and Amen.

Obedience to Jesus brings joy

Psalm 16:11 says, “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” (Ps. 16:11). Jesus came to earth, conceived by the Holy Ghost, in the virgin, Mary, born of the virgin, Mary, espoused to Joseph (Matt. 1:18-25). He had brothers and sisters (Mark 6:3). Alleluia and praise the LORD. Amen and Amen.

No one takes our joy from us

Jesus said that no man takes our joy from us (John 16:22). The bible also talks about the joy that is unspeakable (1 Pet. 1:8).

When was Jesus born?

I believe along with some others I have referenced, that Jesus was born on the feast of trumpets, one of the annual Holydays for the Jews, and some Christian organizations (Lev. 23:23-25). And I believe he was born on the feast of trumpets in 4 B.C., which works out to be September 22nd. You can read more about this interpretation in my free book here: “The Holydays of God, in Christ Jesus of Nazareth, with His Holy Spirit“, namely in appendix B. Happiness, Joy, Contentment – How do we become satisfied with what we have?

Happiness, Joy, Contentment – How do we become satisfied with what we have?

I have often heard that it is the simple things in life that bring joy. The Bible says, “…who hath despised the day of small things?” (Zech. 4:10). Such a simple thing as seeing a flower blossom in the spring can bring contentment to a person. A sign of “new life”, new beginnings and a sign that there is hope for the future and it is bright. God designed nature, and if we listen and observe carefully we can actually hear Him speak through it and we can learn from Him in it. This week I will speak about the simple things that bring happiness, joy and contentment using the Bible as the go to reference book of choice.

I have heard the saying, “ignorance is bliss”. There may be some truth to that. Although it is pretty difficult to be completely ignorant in this life unless you’re in the grave or sleeping at night. The other consideration may be to be at peace with life circumstances. We can have everything and yet feel like we have nothing and then at times we can feel like we have nothing, but have everything. Contentment is as much a frame of mind as it is anything else. The frame of mind that will give us the most joy, happiness and contentment is to have “the mind of Christ” (1 Cor. 2:16). The only way we do this is by accepting the Holy Spirit, through Jesus Christ. The bottom line is, if you have Jesus Christ, you have everything, if you do not have Jesus Christ. What do you really have?

Laughter, Joy and Happiness – Does God have a sense of humor? – Part 5

This topic could not have come at a more perfect time. Just the other day I had created a mishap that has literally spilled over to damage control today. What does this have to do with joy and happiness? Everything! We are given our daily circumstances whatever they are and we must work through them. Sometimes life can be challenging, but that does not mean we must take on a negative attitude because of our circumstances. We must persevere through the challenges and find the positive in every situation. This week we will talk about finding the joy in everything we experience using the Bible as the go to reference book of choice…cont’d.

Last, finding true joy in your life does not have to be a struggle or even a challenge. All it requires is acceptance of God through Christ Jesus. You can live your life joyfully regardless of what you go through knowing that you have a living God who sent His Son, Christ Jesus, to experience the same things we have experienced and do experience (Hebrews 4:15). Not only that, but He knows us more intimately that we know ourselves (Ephesians 1:4). He knows the plans He has for us (Jeremiah 29:11). I have heard, the gift of Christ’s sacrifice for us is unmerited, meaning we can do nothing to deserve it (Romans 5:8). That is what a gift is! So “take His yoke upon you” (Matt. 11:29), and live a life worth living. For Christ alone! And all other things will be given to you (Matt. 6:33)!
